RAMSGATE

Ramsgate is a great destination: Either as a staging post for greater adventures or as a trip in itself.

From the Swale the trip to Ramsgate is fairly straightforward. Setting off around high water it will be downhill all the way as the tide carries you past Whitstable, Herne Bay, Reculver and Margate, then around North Foreland to Ramsgate itself.

The return journey is also easy, but requires a slight effort to round North Foreland.

There are normally plenty of interesting boats in Ramsgate harbour, having sailed from France, Belgium, Holland.

Plenty of Restaurants and Pubs too.

It’s a great weekend trip – out on Saturday and back on Sunday in time for the clubhouse bar!
