It doesn’t always have to be an ambitious voyage to enjoy your cruise. There are many good times to be had in local waters. The Eastern Swale is a beautiful area and offers sheltered sailing in most conditions. The club has it’s own mooring buoys near Harty Ferry where members can spend the night or just wait for the tide. A quiet night can be spent near Conyer Creek in South Deep, or there is very good holding for anchors on the north side of the Swale near Harty.
Oare marshes is one of the best bird watching sites in Kent and you will certainly be able to appreciate that from your peaceful mooring.
Horse Sand is home to many seals. It is certainly worthwhile to linger in the Swale until low tide in order to see them.
